This 1958 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible is a factory tri-power
example with a great story. Mr. Peter Balasis ordered this Kasmir
Blue and White Bonneville new from Clark Pontiac in Elm Grove, West
Virginia as a birthday present for himself. After 11 years of
owning the car he sold it to his brother who just got his driver's
license in 1969. After a few years his son sold the car to a friend
in Indiana. Many years went by and Mr. Balasis kept thinking about
the Bonneville he owned when he was a young man. He tracked down
the gentleman his brother sold the car to in Indiana but was told
he sold the car to another individual in Lake Forest, Illinois. He
then got in contact with the owner but was told the car was not for
sale at the time but he would be the first person he would call
when he decided to sell. The call came in 1989 that the Bonneville
was for sale and Mr. Balasis said he had to buy his "Bonnie" back
and he did. The car then went in for a full frame off restoration
where every nut and bolt was meticulously restored to factory
condition. The car was then reconditioned again by Mr. Balasis
himself in 2000 going to a base coat clear coat then the lacquer
paint that was done in 1990. The car had been in his care up until
this year and has never been offered for sale since. The Bonneville
runs and drives outstanding! The engine, carburetors and
transmission were all rebuilt. This car features leather interior,
a factory continental kit, very rare spotlight mirror, correct T3
headlights, white wall tires, AM radio, power antenna and power
convertible top with matching boot. The engine compartment and
undercarriage have been highly detailed. This Bonneville has won
numerous national shows, was featured on the cover of cars and
parts magazine and won GM Carlisle Nationals in 2003. Only 3,096
Bonneville convertibles were produced in 1958 making this one of
the pinnacle GM cars of the 1950s. Photo book of restoration and
awards are included in the sale. You do not want to miss this
wonderful example.
