1957 Lincoln Continental Mark II in Youngville, NC

Vehicle Description

Run Day - Saturday May 31, 2025

This beautiful, important and exceptionally rare 1957 Lincoln Mark II Continental is a 3-owner vehicle with only 40,913 actual miles. It is equipped with every possible option including the rare and desirable factory air conditioning and padded dash. This car has a 368ci V8 engine which was specifically made, blueprinted and balanced for this vehicle by a special department within Lincoln. Connected to the engine is the original 3-speed automatic transmission as well as a stainless steel dual exhaust system which was recently refurbished. Additional equipment includes power steering, power brakes, power windows (including vent), power seat, AM "Town & Country" radio, power antenna and a self-regulating clock. This was the most expensive automobile in 1957 with a retail price of $10,000 US dollars. The original owner of this particular example was Edward Gaylord who founded Gaylord Concept Cars with his brother. Gaylord Concept Cars were renowned for building concept cars and leading-edge prototypes for Detroit's "Big Three". The exterior has had one professional repaint in its factory-correct color and the red and white Bridge of Weir Scottish leather interior is original to the car. This is a phenomenal example of a mid-century American flagship automobile with lots of long-term upside and potential in the collector car market. Act now while the time is right!
