"Thunderbird Special" V8 engine which is mated to Ford's
Cruise-o-Matic transmission. Further adding to the allure of this
particular Skyliner is the impressive list of factory and dealer
options including Select-Aire conditioning, power windows, power
steering, power retractable top, 4-way power bench seat, Town &
Country push-button AM radio, "Lifeguard" safety package, wide
whitewall tires, deluxe wheel covers, windshield wipers with washer
fluid, dual Ford Unity Spotlight mirrors, stainless steel fender
skirts and continental kit. The 1959 Ford automobiles were awarded
the Gold Medal for exceptional styling at the Brussels World Fair,
