Survivor Classic Car Services of Chicago is proud to present this
1987 VW Dune Buggy! This fabricated rail-chassis is purpose-built
to provide the maximum amount of fun! Powering this buggy is a
Volkswagen flat-four engine that has been modified to improve
performance. A slightly lopey idle emanates from the Supertrap
exhaust, ready to rev to the moon! Power is sent forward to a
4-speed manual transaxle powering the massive rear wheels. A pair
of meaty 285/70R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires sit out back, more
than capable of propelling this street-legal go-kart up to highway
speeds!
The chassis is painted a stealth black, which goes well with the
dark green paint on the fiberglass body. The bucket seats and
5-point harnesses keep you planted firmer than an 80 year old oak
tree! The black vinyl bimini top keeps the harsh sun from blasting
the occupants with its violent rays while still giving the open-air
experience you're looking for! The engine starts up easily and has
good oil pressure whether cruising or at idle. Shifting through the
gears turns you into the conductor of the symphony that is the
exhaust as it sings its way through the RPMS on the street or in
the sand. This beautifully crafted dune buggy was built to take the
long way home!
