Welcome to Street Dreams as we celebrate our 26th year in the
classic and muscle car business. Chevrolet's El Camino was a coupe
utility vehicle that was introduced in 1959 to compete with Ford's
similar Ranchero. Ford of Australia was the first company to offer
a coupe utility in 1934, the result of a letter from a farmer's
wife that requested a vehicle to go to church in on Sunday and
which can carry our pigs to market on Monday. Together with the
Ranchero, the El Camino proved that there was an American market
for a sedan-based utility vehicle that could perform most of the
duties of a light truck. With a much longer list of available
options, a lucky soul could equip the El Camino like this gorgeous
Fathom Blue (28) 1970 El Camino SS396. Beneath the functional cowl
induction hood is a numbers matching (EC T1110CTW, VD 10B124588)
396/402 V8, a stout version of Chevy's legendary big block.
Additional features include power steering, power front disc
brakes, a TH400 automatic transmission, correct blue bucket seats
(765) with console, full instrumentation, a factory 4-link rear
suspension with 12-bolt carrier, a newer AM/FM/iPod audio system,
and plenty of rubber (215/65R15 F, 245/60R15 R) wrapped around
American Racing alloy wheels that resemble the original Magnum
500's. This is the first Fathom Blue Chevelle/El Camino that I've
seen and it is absolutely gorgeous. This beauty is a fine example
of these beloved machines that's ready to haul. Ass or hay, it's up
to you! Another show stopper from the team that can make your dream
a reality. Street Dreams (830-997-1950) is a full service
dealership that can assist with worldwide delivery, insurance, and
financing options.
