This 1979 Datsun 280ZX 2+2 was acquired by the current owner in California in 1990. The car was refurbished with a repaint and an interior replacement in tan cloth, vinyl and leather. A replacement 2.8-liter inline-six engine was also installed and it is paired with a three-speed automatic transmission.
The car was modified with an aftermarket air intake, Eibach springs, Tokico struts, 15″ Center Line wheels, aftermarket bodywork, and an Alpine stereo. Additional equipment includes air conditioning, cruise control, and power mirrors.
Restoration Details:
Various seals and weather stripping were replaced along with the bumper covers and front bumper reinforcement. Details include aftermarket front and rear valances and side skirts as well as a vented hood, power side mirrors, and a rear window wiper.
The cabin was restored in January 2024 with leather upholstery on the dashboard, steering wheel and column, and center console armrest. The front bucket seats and a contoured rear bench have been re-trimmed in tan vinyl and cloth.
This 280ZX really hugs the road! The 15″ Center Line wheels are mounted with Toyo Proxes 4 tires. The suspension has been fitted with Eibach springs and Tokico struts. Braking is provided by power-assisted discs at each corner.
