This is a beautiful restored 1966 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350H that
needs nothing to be enjoyed and can be shown at any major concours
worldwide. Whether for use as a classic driver or for regional
shows, this is a wonderful example in every respect. This 1966
Shelby Mustang GT350H was shipped new by Shelby American Inc. from
their Los Angeles, California, facility in April 1966. The 289ci
HiPo V8 was fitted with a Paxton supercharger and the car was
refurbished under previous ownership before being acquired by the
current owner in 2021. Finished in black with gold graphics, the
car rides on 14 Magnum 500 wheels and is equipped with
power-assisted front disc brakes as well as a three-speed automatic
transmission. Inside, black vinyltrimmed seats are accompanied by
latch-and-link front belts along with a simulated wood-rimmed
steering wheel. Approximately 1,000 GT350H examples were produced
as part of a partnership between Ford and the Hertz car rental
company. This example was delivered new in Raven Black (A) and was
repainted as part of the aforementioned refurbishment completed
under previous ownership. The car wears gold over-the-top stripes
and GT350H side stripes as well as a driver-side mirror, hood pins,
and chrome bumpers. Chrome-plated 14 Magnum 500 wheels are mounted
withGoodyear Blue Streak tires. GT350s were factory-equipped with
Kelsey-Hayes front disc brakes as well as larger rear drums than
standard Mustangs. The cabin features low-back bucket seats trimmed
in black vinyl, which extends to the split rear bench as well as
the door panels. A Carroll Shelby signature appears on the glovebox
door, and further details include an AM radio, a heater, and
latch-and-link front belts. The simulated woodrimmed tilt-away
steering wheel is paired with a Cobra-branded shifter and frames a
140-mph speedometer flanked by gauges for fuel-level, oil-pressure,
amperage, and coolant-temperature. A Cobra-branded 9k-rpm
tachometer is mounted atop the dash, while a vacuum pressure gauge
has been added below. The five-digit odometer shows 80k miles,
approximately 150 of which have been added under current ownership.
Shelby modified the 289ci HiPo V8 with a cast-aluminum high-rise
intake manifold for the 595-CFM Autolite carburetor as well as a
baffled aluminum oil pan. This unit has been fitted with a Paxton
supercharger and wears black-finished Cobra-branded valve covers.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a C4 three-speed
automatic transmission. The dual exhaust system features tri-Y
headers as well as an H-pipe. A copy of a delivery receipt from
Shelby American Inc. notes chassis SFM6S1678 as a black GT350
Hertz. For more information and details, please call or text Harry
