GT500 #1892 Brittany Blue 4 Speed!
Now is your chance to secure your own piece of American muscle
history with this beautiful 1967 Shelby GT500 #1892 Brittany Blue 4
Speed! This car represents a timeless symbol of American
craftsmanship and performance. These are the last Shelbys made by
Carroll Shelby himself before Ford took over production in 1968.
These iconic machines embody an era of raw power, innovation, and a
pioneering spirit that continues to captivate enthusiasts
worldwide. As rare artifacts with a rich legacy, they offer not
only the thrill of driving but also the potential for significant
appreciation over time. With their limited numbers and timeless
design, they've proven to be not just cars but investments that
appreciate in value.
This stunning 1967 Shelby GT500, serial #1892, is a rare and
authentic piece of American muscle car history. Finished in the
eye-catching Brittany Blue with white Le Mans stripes, this GT500
combines original performance heritage with iconic Shelby styling.
Starting its journey in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, this Shelby found
its way into the care of Lindell and Doris Allison. After Lindell's
passing, Doris sold the vehicle to family friend Allen C. Hixson.
According to the previous owners, the car underwent a single
restoration estimated around 1993. Since then, it has remained
parked in a garage untouched for years, a genuine barn find waiting
to roar again.
Powering this beast is a date code correct, original 428ci Police
Interceptor V8, breathing through its original dual carburetors and
topped with Cobra Lemans valve covers. The air cleaner is proudly
badged with Cobra branding, enhancing its vintage muscle aesthetic.
With cast-iron cylinder heads and exhaust manifolds, this GT500
stays true to its factory performance roots. Cooling is handled by
the original radiator and a thermostatic clutch fan, preserving
reliability and authenticity.
Backing the powerhouse is the original numbers-matching 4-speed
manual transmission, ensuring an engaging and raw driving
experience. The car also retains its factory Ford and Shelby
VINs-an important detail for collectors. Power steering and power
brakes round out the drivability enhancements under the hood,
blending brute force with balanced handling.
The Brittany Blue paint is perfectly complemented by white Le Mans
racing stripes, giving this GT500 its aggressive and unmistakable
look. The body features the factory steel and fiberglass hood with
functional scoop, original steel/fiberglass trunk, and factory
Shelby outboard headlights. Factory Shelby taillights, badging, and
side scoops maintain the authenticity, while original factory glass
and functional windshield wipers add to its originality.
Rolling on hub cap wheels wrapped in Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires,
the car sits with a period-correct stance that speaks to its
street-dominating legacy. All exterior components including the
correct Shelby GT500 side stripe reinforce the car's heritage.
Inside, the cabin remains true to the original Shelby design with
black vinyl front bucket seats and a rear fold-down bench. The
original 4-speed shifter, factory dash with gauges, tachometer, and
trip odometer provide a functional yet vintage cockpit feel. The
Shelby wood-grain steering wheel and factory-installed radio add a
classic touch, while the factory shoulder harnesses and lap belts
keep safety period-correct.
Underneath, the car retains its factory 9" Ford rear end and
original 4-speed transmission. A Shelby factory-style chambered
exhaust gives this muscle car its distinct rumble. Rear leaf
springs, Gabriel rear shocks, and power front disc brakes ensure
the car remains both powerful and controlled. A stainless steel gas
tank rounds out the underbody components, preserving fuel
integrity.
This 1967 Shelby GT500 #1892 is a dream for collectors and
enthusiasts alike, a rare, well-preserved example of Carroll
Shelby's vision of American performance. With its original
drivetrain, documented restoration, and fascinating ownership
history, this barn find presents a rare opportunity to own a true
legend that blends authenticity, heritage, and timeless style.
