STOCK#2062 COMING UP FOR SALE: One Mean Bandit Restomod – Built to Thrill, Comfortable Enough to Cruise Daily
This isn’t just a tribute—it’s a full-on pro-touring beast wrapped in a Smokey and the Bandit look that even Burt himself would’ve begged to drive.
Originally restored and sold on eBay in 2014 with just 26k miles, this Trans Am took a wild turn in 2020 when it was reimagined into the fire-breathing machine you see here.
Let’s talk performance and handling:
This T/A features a Detroit Speed mini-tub setup, Koni adjustable shocks, Hotchkis lowering springs, and beefy Hotchkis sway bars for tight, confident cornering. Out back, it sports a shortened 10-bolt rear by East Coast Gear, Moser axles, and 3.73 gears by Mike Ellis. Fuel delivery is on point thanks to a narrowed stainless LS tank.
She rides on Year One billet snowflakes—18x10 up front and steamroller 18x12 in the rear—wrapped in G-Force Rival rubber (245/40/18 & 335/30/18). Stopping power comes from a full 4-wheel disc conversion off a 2002 Camaro SS, featuring drilled and slotted rotors for modern braking confidence.
Under the hood:
Powered by a built 2002 LS1, this beast boasts worked heads, a cammed setup, Edelbrock Victor Jr intake & fuel rails, 1000CFM throttle body, and Hooker Super Comp long tube headers with true dual exhaust that’ll make the birds scatter and jaws drop.
It’s mated to a built 4L60E transmission by Monster Transmissions, delivering smooth, reliable shifts whether you’re cruising to dinner or melting tires.
Cooling and accessories are handled by a polished front serpentine system, Vintage Air A/C, HD chrome alternator, and a dual electric fan system to keep it cool under pressure.
Interior comfort meets style:
Slide into powered 2015 Camaro SS seats—front and rear—along with a matching SS center console. They’re not just good looking; they’re honestly some of the most comfortable seats we’ve tested in a classic. Car play double din with Bluetooth, nice modern touch! Dakota digital Guages!
Crank up the tunes:
High-powered Kenwood head unit, custom door pods, 6x9s, subs, mids, highs—it sounds as badass as it looks.
Dyno-tuned to 370RWHP (approx. 450HP at the crank) and built to be driven hard or easy, this Bandit is a street legend that’s just as happy tearing up a canyon road as it is cruising through traffic with ice-cold A/C.
Street ready. Show worthy. Comfort approved.
