This 1956 Bentley S1 Continental, originally coach built by H.J. Mulliner, is finished in Burgundy over beige leather with brown piping. Powered by a 4.9-liter inline-six with a 8:1 compression ratio in Continental models featuring the F-head configuration that incorporates overhead intake valves, side exhaust valves and induction through twin SU carburetors. The 15” steel wheels wear color-keyed hubcaps and are mounted with [225/75 BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial] whitewall tires. The [car was optioned with power steering] and braking is handled by servo-assisted drums. The cabin offers 2+2 leather seating, burl wood trim, Wilton wool carpets, Smiths instrumentation, rear picnic trays, and a [period radio], with amenities including power windows, a three-spoke steering wheel, and a leather convertible top boot.
Originally delivered as a Sports Saloon, this chassis was professionally converted to the Park Ward style Drophead Coupe configuration by Coach Builders Ltd. of High Springs, Florida..
