When it comes to muscle cars, there is nothing quite like a
first-generation Camaro. Power, prestige, and pizazz begin to
describe this beautiful 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Tribute. Fully
repainted in a deep burgundy exterior paint, this racy restomod
sports all the correct SS badges along with some added chrome
accents to complement its polished American Racing Torq Thrust
wheels. The addition of 383 badges on the front fenders hints that
this car has a bit more lurking under its hood than stock.
But before we get to that power part of the fun, first let us
introduce you to this exquisitely redone interior. Upgraded with
black and white Houndstooth for both the front and rear seats, this
Camaro also features a power-assisted, wood-rimmed steering wheel
and matching woodgrain console trim to add a bit of contrast. Just
beyond that wheel is a set of white-faced Auto Meter gauges set
against a carbon-fiber-style dash panel that extends to the
AM/FM/Aux head unit. A white Hurst T-bar shifter and padded
expletive handle give both the driver and passenger something to
hold onto when this Pony Car really digs in.
Under that louvered and insulated hood, we find a clean engine bay
with a powerful 383 cubic inch stroker V-8. A single four-barrel
Holley QFT Slayer carburetor feeds into an Edelbrock intake
manifold, while a set of Doug's long tube headers (complete with
cut-outs) channels exhaust gases out through a true dual exhaust
for that unmistakably authentic muscle car sound. An MSD ignition
simplifies timing, while an aluminum radiator and electric fan
setup keep things running cool. Power from that stroked small block
gets funneled through a tried-and-true Muncie M20 four-speed manual
before heading out to the twelve-bolt rear end. The aforementioned
American Racing wheels are shod in 255/45ZR-17 rear and staggered
235/45ZR-17 front Nitto rubber.
