1965 Mustang Fastback, 289, 4 speed, power steering, power brakes, manual transmission Ivy Green Metallic with Ivy Gold/White pony interior . I am the original owner of this car, purchased on March 10, 1965, and in the excited hands of a 21-year-old driver with his first car, this design icon has sped the highways of Lompoc, California, tested its speed across the southern route all the way back to the fun, switch-back curves of West Virginia, then the Autobahn where long stretches with no speed limits fueled exhilarating memories of a lifetime. A growing family necessitated its sale in 1970, but it was always in my memory. In the fall of 2006, I discovered the VIN# among my paperwork, and tracked down the car, and convinced the then current owner to sell it back to me. I repurchased it almost 42 years from the original purchase date, on March 10, 2007. As featured on the cover of the April 2013 issue of Mustang Times Magazine, everything, including every nut and bolt, of this 1965 Fastback, 289, 4 speed, was completely restored in 2011 to concourse specifications. and it has won a trophy in every Eastern South Carolina Mustang Club of America concourse event in which it was entered.
I have collected and shown Mustangs for many years and served as a judge for eight (8) years in regional shows through the Eastern South Carolina Mustang Club. But it is time to downsize our collection, and we sure hate to let this beauty go. Odometer reading reflects miles since restoration.
