Exclusive 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300 B Cabriolet D 'ADENAUER' This 1954
Mercedes-Benz 300 B Cabriolet D is an extremely original and
undisturbed example out of single family ownership. It's been
patiently awaiting servicing and minor cosmetics. Black with
original red leather interior. Nice panel gaps and door fit.
Straight and solid overall. Not currently running and requires
mechanical recommissioning. A well-preserved example of an iconic,
rare, and exclusive Mercedes-Benz. The 300 Cabriolet D was among
the most expensive and luxurious cars available on the German
market at the time. Furthermore, the Cabriolet D was one of the
rarest body-styles to grace a Mercedes-Benz chassis. Its
convertible sedan setup was typically reserved for heads of state
and board members. Fast and elegant, it was one of very few
contemporary vehicles capable of carrying six passengers in comfort
at sustained high speeds. It was the car of choice among West
German government officials, and throughout Europe and the USA was
widely favored by businessmen, financiers and politicians. Indeed,
'Adenauer' became the 300 saloon/limousine's unofficial model name,
after German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, its most famous customer.
The 300 Cabriolet d version was among the world's most expensive
automobiles of its day. As one of just 591 Cabriolet Ds produced,
this top-of-the-line 300 model represents quite a rare and exciting
opportunity for its next caretaker. Out of single family ownership
