Carrozzeria Ghia has designed and built some of the world's most desirable cars throughout its long history beginning in 1916. While much of its early word was devoted to producing bodies as a fairly typical coachbuilder, Ghia has been periodically contracted to produce or complete whole cars for companies unable to develop ultra high-end, low-production models. Knowing this, it is no surprise that Mr. Eugene Casaroll, owner of Dual Motors Corporation which specialized in military truck and industrial generators, decided to have Ghia produce a short run of cars based on the 1954 Dodge Firebomb concept car.

Using a system dubbed "the world's longest production line" (later utilized by Chrysler for their Imperial limousines and copied by GM for their work with Pininfarina on the Cadillac Allanté), Mr. Casaroll had US-built Dodge frames and drivetrains sent to Ghia in Italy. The coachbuilder then shortened the chassis, hand-crafted/fitted the swooping bodywork and luxurious interior, then sent the partially completed vehicles back to Dual Motors in the US for final assembly. Naturally, this resulted in high costs, with the Dual-Ghia's base price exceeding the comparable Eldorado Biarritz by $200. While Mr. Casaroll intended for 150 to be produced, only 117 were completed by the end of production. Today, only 34 are believed to have survived and remain well-regarded for their stunning design and impressive comfort.

The superlative 1957 Dual-Ghia Convertible featured here is finished in stunning Midnight Blue over a gorgeous Blue and Cream interior with a matching Dark Blue convertible top. This exquisite motorcar was purchased new by Frank Sinatra's production company, whereupon it was given to Mr. Sinatra's one-time wife and life-long friend, Ava Gardner. Upon completion of a comprehensive show-quality restoration, this investment-grade Dual-Ghia won multiple awards at notable events such as the Palos Verde and Greystone Mansion Concours d'Elegance events. In addition, the car was featured in the 1992 TV Series, "Sinatra", and previously displayed at the famed Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. We are proud to offer this incredible Dual-Ghia to the most particular collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires to own one of the very best at an investment price!
