Originally created for secret factory racing, this 1957 Chevrolet
150 Black Widow tribute carries forward the legacy of Chevy's
specialized lightweight racers. The black exterior perfectly
accentuates every curve and angle of the classic '57 body lines.
Chrome bumpers and the distinctive hood spear add brilliant
contrast against the dark finish. Fuel injection emblems adorn the
fenders - a detail found on the original competition models. A
single mirror on the driver's side keeps the look authentic while
15-inch black steel wheels with chrome caps and 205/50R15 front and
265/60R15 rear redline tires complete the race-ready
appearance.
Inside, the black and white cloth interior follows the minimalist
approach true to racing heritage. The front bench seat remains the
only seating option, as the rear bench was removed to save weight.
Factory gauges in the perfectly painted dash work alongside an
aftermarket tachometer mounted on the steering column. Additional
instrumentation comes via three AutoMeter gauges placed below the
dash, monitoring essential vehicle functions. The floor shifter
features a Hurst ball handle and includes a red button for
line-lock functionality - ideal for those who want extra grip when
launching.
Motion comes from a potent 383 cubic inch V8 with less than 1,000
miles on the build. The engine utilizes RHS aluminum heads and a
Comp cam with 9.5:1 compression ratio, fed by a Holley 4-barrel
carburetor atop an Edelbrock aluminum intake. Long tube headers
lead to a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster 50 series mufflers. A
Richmond 6-speed manual transmission connects to a 10-bolt rear end
running 3.08 gears. Control and stopping come from Wilwood 4-piston
disc brakes at all four corners, working with traction bars, front
and rear sway bars, and Bilstein shocks.
