Gleaming in a vibrant turquoise finish, the 1966 Chevrolet El
Camino blends utility and classic styling in one impressive
package. Bold chrome accents frame this vehicle's distinctive body
lines while rally-style 15" wheels with center caps and beauty
rings give it proper road presence. A soft bed cover adds
practicality without sacrificing the clean, muscular profile. Lip
moldings adorn all four corners, complementing the window surrounds
and grille trim. The 215/70R15 BFG Advantage all-season tires
complete the balanced stance of this American classic, showing off
its unique dual-purpose design as both truck and car.
The black interior combines function with comfort through its vinyl
and cloth bench seat. A Grant steering wheel adds a custom touch
while the column shifter gives easy access to gear selection. Audio
comes from an aftermarket RetroSound radio equipped with modern USB
connectivity. Black door panels create a unified look throughout
the cabin, while the intact headliner features a fully functional
dome light. Climate control is managed through the factory AC
panel, and additional Iequus gauges monitor vital engine functions
including temperature, voltage, and oil pressure.
Muscle comes from the believed-original L30 327 cubic inch V8
producing 275 horsepower. Recent mechanical work includes new rod
and main bearings, timing chain installation, and an upgraded
high-volume oil pump. The modified 2004R automatic transmission
features an electronic torque converter controller for improved
performance. Power transfers through a 10-bolt rear axle with fresh
3.36:1 ring and pinion gears and new axle bearings. Handling is
enhanced by tubular upper and lower control arms both front and
rear. The dual exhaust with glasspack-style mufflers creates a
proper V8 rumble. The original 3-core factory AC radiator has been
fully restored in 2024 for optimal cooling.
