Vehicle Description
1955 Chevrolet Bel Air - Frame-Off Custom by Southern Classic
Customs | 502ci V8 | Tremec 6-Speed | Art Morrison Chassis
Offered for sale is a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air unlike any other-a
show-stopping, full frame-off custom build completed by the
renowned Southern Classic Customs (SCC). Finished in stunning Rosso
Corsa Ferrari Red, this Bel Air is a meticulous 3-year labor of
love that merges timeless 1950s design with modern craftsmanship
and raw performance. Every component on this car is new, and no
detail was overlooked.
Build Overview:
This Bel Air features a rust-free body from Real Deal Steel, and
was completely transformed by SCC with a refined, minimalist
approach. Staying true to the car's legendary design, SCC carefully
shaved unnecessary trim from the rear quarters, dash, gas door,
wiper cowl, and emblems for a smooth and clean silhouette. The
bumpers were also shaved and tucked to enhance the sleek body
lines. The Ferrari Rosso Corsa paint was laid down in premium PPG
materials by SCC's very own Brandon Shuping and Howard Brown, and
the result is an absolutely mirror-like finish over very straight
panels. Riding on Boze Clutch wheels, which are 275/35/18 on the
front and 325/35/19 on the rear.
Engine & Drivetrain:
- Power comes from a fresh GM Performance 502ci / 502hp Big Block
Crate V8, fitted with:
- Borla Induction intake and throttle body
- FAST XFI Stand-Alone EFI system
Paired with this powerhouse is a Tremec T-56 Magnum 6-speed manual
transmission, sourced from American Powertrain, delivering modern
drivability and bulletproof strength.
The engine bay sets the tone for the rest of the build with custom
inner fender panels featuring a unique circle pattern, which is
echoed throughout the interior and trunk-on the valve covers, door
panels, center console, and shifter.
Chassis & Suspension:
- Art Morrison Chassis
- Strange Engineering Coilovers
- Strange Axles
- Fully upgraded braking and suspension setup for handling and ride
quality that rivals modern muscle.
- 4 Corner Wilwood Brakes with 4-piston on front and rear
- E-Stopp Electric Parking Brake
Interior & Upholstery:
The interior was handcrafted by Sanford Fountain Upholstery,
blending show-level aesthetics with comfort. The beautiful tan
leather seats are power, with multiple way adjustment. The design
continues the circular motif started in the engine bay, carried
through to the custom door panels, console, and trunk trim. The
dash is clean and shaved for a modern yet classic feel, and the
gauges are the Dakota Digital RTX Bel Air style. The steering
column is from Ididit, and the paint-matched steering wheel is from
Classic Industries - the Bel Air 15-inch reproduction-style
steering wheel. Cold AC and hot heat will keep the cabin very
comfortable, courtesy of Vintage AC. Play your favorite tunes in
this Bel Air thanks to an upgraded Pioneer Head Unit, mated to a JL
Audio Speaker and Sub set up very cleanly in the trunk.
