Inside, blue vinyl covers the bucket seats for a unified color
scheme throughout. The clean dash layout follows Volkswagen's
philosophy of simplicity with essential gauges and controls within
easy reach. Audio upgrades include a Pioneer stereo with Bluetooth
capability, Rockford speakers mounted in the doors, and an MTX
audio subwoofer on the rear parcel shelf. A custom bamboo-style
shelf positioned below the dash offers additional storage and a
unique touch.
Behind the rear deck lid, a modified 1904cc flat-four engine
replaces the stock 1600cc powerplant for improved performance. Dual
2-barrel carburetors handle the fuel mixture while a shorty header
and aftermarket single exhaust system manage the exhaust flow. The
4-speed manual transmission connects to the transaxle rear end for
direct power delivery. Front disc brakes and the classic torsion
bar front suspension with swing axle rear design round out the
mechanical package.
