are long since passed, that doesn't mean that a truck like this
1965 Chevrolet C10 Ext Cab Custom Restomod can't have a far more
exciting second life as a head-turning show truck. Fully repainted
in a deep green, there is no missing this marvelous machine as it
rumbles by, and with just 357 miles on its odometer since it was
rebuilt, there are plenty of miles left in the tank. The extended
cab section is completely custom-built, giving this C10 a look like
no other. New bumpers and trim accent the slammed low look with its
huge twenty-inch American Racing rims wrapped in super low-profile
rubber, while new red oak wood and stainless-steel line the bed to
finish off this trucks look with plenty of fit, finish, and
attitude.
Inside, we find a completely redone interior finished off in black
and beige. Well-bolstered and supportive power bucket seats come
from a 2018 Silverado, while the rear seats and their integrated
armrest can fold down whenever extra cargo space is needed. A
padded three-spoke wheel sits in front of a chrome column shifter,
while the retro dashboard is actually a cleverly designed set of
Dakota Digital RTX gauges and a trick Retrosound AM/FM/Bluetooth
radio. A tilt wheel, seatbelts for everyone, and even a Vintage Air
A/C setup make this restomod fun, safe, and comfortable to drive to
and from, whether you're driving to a car show or
cross-country.
Under the hood, we find a clean body-color engine bay featuring a
modern 5.3-liter Vortec V-8 engine. Fitted with 862 heads, EFI,
Sanderson shorty headers, and a true dual stainless steel exhaust,
this truck speaks up via a set of sweet-sounding FlowMaster
mufflers. Power is routed through a 4L60E four-speed automatic
transmission before being sent to a twelve-bolt differential, which
houses stout 3.73 gears to allow this truck to have plenty of jump
off the line, while still retaining civilized highway manners and
fuel economy.
