Vehicle Description
Between 1987 and 1993, The Cadillac company designed, assembled and
sold the Allante. The car was based on a Cadillac chassis and
running gear with a convertible body with a folding soft-top and
optional hardtop. The bodies were built in Italy by coachbuilder
Pininfarina, which then were flown to Detroit for final assembly.
21,000 units were built in its seven-year production. The MSRP on
these cars was big, part of it was that it took specially equipped
Boeing 747's that could fit 56 bodies at a time. This would not be
the first time that Cadillac had a joint venture with Italy,
however, it is the first time on this scale of production and
possibly the last....This particular car comes to us with not a ton
of known history unfortunately and the mileage seems a little funky
as its hard to believe that there is actually almost 300K on this
thing. The KM's when converted to add up either. so, not sure on
mileage, but as a dealer must list whats on the odometer. The car
does start, shift, brake and go down the road, however I would not
recommend driving it until an inspection and service has been
performed. We took this in and have not performed any sort of
inspection on it. We are selling it AS-IS. We also do not know the
condition of the convertible top as we are not going to take the
hardtop off. This is priced in a spot where we hope if you had the
wherewithal to do some work, it could be a fun project. Please let
us know if you have any questions.
