1965 Porsche 911 Coupe Matching Numbers: First Year of the Iconic 911
From the very first production year and arguably purest designed 911 model, this matching numbers example was originally delivered in desirable Bali Blue and retains its original matching numbers 2.0-liter engine and original blue interior. Offered with its Certificate of Authenticy.
Under previous ownership, the chassis has undergone a four-stage dipping process including the total removal of all paint, rust, and chassis coatings followed by a
neutralizing dipping, then a water wash, and a final immersion in an electrically deposited rust preventative coating. This process addresses and treats all areas of the chassis including those areas that cannot be accessed without total submersion. It also exposes any areas that need to be addressed to complete the restoration. The cylinder heads have been completely rebuilt including new valves, valve springs, and valve guides. The doors have been rust repaired and in primer and the engine sheet metal powder coated. The engine is disassembled. 5 chrome proper date stamped wheels. Also included in the sale are two new Porsche complete rear quarter panels.
As is often the case when it comes to collector cars; the very first iteration of a popular model often remains hallowed for its purity in design, which is very much true with the first model-year 911s. This matching-numbers, factory Bali Blue example is well-deserving of restoration.
