Vehicle Description
Welcome to Street Dreams as we celebrate our 26th year in the
classic and muscle car business. Here's one you don't see every
day. The de Tomaso Pantera was the first attempt by a major
American manufacturer to blend sexy Italian styling with a reliable
yet muscular American V8. Designed by the legendary Italian firm
Carrozzeria Ghia, the Pantera was penned by American-born Tom
Tjaarda. The gorgeous low-slung coupe was first seen here at the
1970 New York Auto Show, sales began in 1971, and the rest is
history. Our mean green 1972 Pantera is sporting a freshly rebuilt
engine that accentuates the strong performance these beauties were
known for. Beneath the rear decklid lurks a stout, numbers matching
(03077) and fully balanced 351C V8 that's been JetCleaned, decked,
bored, and honed, then fortified with new forged pistons, a Crane
hydraulic roller camshaft, an aluminum intake manifold, a Holley
carburetor, factory headers, and a MSD ignition with billet
distributor. Broken in but not driven much, this beast spun the
dyno to the tune of 461 bhp and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. Additional
features include a fully independent double wishbone suspension
with coilovers, highly desirable early small bumpers, rack and
pinion steering, power 4-wheel disc brakes, power windows, air
conditioning, a ZF 5-speed manual transaxle with 4.22 Posi
differential, front and rear stabilizer bars, an AM/FM/Cassette
stereo, full instrumentation, and fresh tires (205/60R15 F,
295/50R15 R) wrapped around original Campagnolo alloy wheels
recently refurbished by Wheels America. With 130 bhp more than
stock and fresh oversize radial tires, this Italian road missile is
an absolute thrill ride. Also, as one of only 2131 produced, this
jewel is likely to continue appreciating. Another amazing unicorn
from the team that can make your dream a reality. G-suit and helmet
not included. Street Dreams (830-997-1950) is a full service
dealership that can assist with worldwide delivery, insurance, and
financing options.
