For consignment, a 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT 8 with a title
verified 19,513 actual miles. This is car #343 of just 400 Fuchsia
SRT8's sold in 2010 and the unique fun doesn't stop on the paint as
the cars were fitted with Pearl White performance seats and unique
wheels.
Exterior
This garage kept example has been ceramic coated, so the Furious
Fuchsia Pearl paint probably shines a little better than new. On
the hood, a pair of black carbon fiber taped stripes run in tandem
to conform round the air intake ducts, part of a power bulge that
advertises the 6.1 Hemi underneath. There's a sunroof on the roof
and a black spoiler on the tail over a fantastic light bar and quad
square tail pipes under the roll pan. In profile, high rear hips
rise over the 20-inch 5 spoke wheels with large openings, exposing
the red calipers and wrapped in 275/40ZR20 tires with a late 2022
date code. The slightly mean scowl of the front fascia is not
softened one iota by the fuchsia paint and when you see it coming
up behind you, it's time to move right! You'll "oooh" when you see
it, and "aaahh" when it passes. Some minor chin scrapes are the
only imperfections we note and unless you're a squirrel sitting in
the road, you'll likely not notice.
Interior
Dark slate Alcantara and white stitched leather make up the door
panels and that white stitching is a crucial complement to the
Pearl white leather fronted bucket sport seats, embroidered with a
white SRT logo on the seat back. They are heavily bolstered and
contain a fuchsia stripe that's a nice touch, while slate leather
wraps the sides, and this pattern continues to seats where a center
strip of black holds the tuck away armrest and three cheers for the
high head restraints in back! All business up front with a thick
steering wheel leading to white faced gauges on the instrument
panel with black screen digital message bottom thirds. A
touchscreen in the center relays info from the AM/FM/CD unit that
has a backup camera, Bluetooth, XM and Carplay capabilities, while
the A/C controls are the familiar triple knob configuration. A
Barton shifter rises from the center console, wrapped in a dark
slate boot in front of a pair of cupholders. Low pile black carpet
clings to the floor cleanly and the headliner is perfect, contoured
around the sunroof and overhead console. Gray cloth panels finish
the trunk which appears to have never been used.
Drivetrain
Thankfully, large plastic covers don't obstruct the view of what we
can call a clean and attractive engine in the bay, and a potent
one. This is the 6.1 liter Hemi V8, rated at 425 horsepower and
tied to a Tremec TR6060 6-speed manual transmission. Power is sent
to the rear, where you can fry the tires via 3.92 gears and Getrag
limited slip. This Mopar is equipped with Brembo power disc brakes
on all four wheels.
Undercarriage
Things are clean underneath as well with some light road dust,
minimal surface rust, and zero errant fluids. The dual exhaust
flows through the original equipment mufflers before heading out
back while independent suspension is found front and rear, with
Macpherson struts up front and multilink with coil springs in
back.
Drive-Ability
Electronic fuel injection means quick starting and a bodacious
exhaust note follows. There's a sense of being in a safe cocoon as
the interior essentially envelopes you and invites you to focus on
the road and the gauges in front of you. That said, the car runs
great, handles well, and all functions are up to par and working as
intended. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions
were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee
these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
Mopar is no stranger to unusual and wild colors and this was their
modern iteration to appeal to those who recognize the significance
of the color. This is a low mile, pampered example of a relatively
uncommon spec and a sure crowd pleaser. If it's "Mopar or No Car"
for you, be sure to get a closer look at this 2010 SRT8.
