Highly detailed rotisserie restoration. When I first saw this car I
said, "this is the shiniest car I've seen!" It's glossy and
spotless everywhere I looked. Photos of the restoration and
original build sheet is included.
EXTERIOR: Was this thing dipped in clear or what? It is polished
glossy everywhere! The body work is outstanding: it's straight, all
the lines are right on, the panels fit properly, and doors shut
like new. There is no rust or damage. Repainted its original rare
Spanish Gold color. The light gold metallic has been laid out
evenly and the clear coat is polished like wet glass. The black
stripes are typically a matte finish, but on this GTX they are
glossy and man does it look good. The functional air grabber hoods
have red grills which pick up the other red accents very well. The
new vinyl top is a beautiful pearl white. The chrome sparkles! The
front bezels have been chrome plated and the grill is restored. The
turn signals on top of the fenders have fresh chrome, as do the
door handles, vent window frames, antenna base, mirrors, and door
handles. The stainless trim and even the wiper arms are polished.
The tail panel and taillights look like new, the bumper is
rechromed. The windshield and side glass have been replaced. It's
sitting on some sparkling new 15 inch Magnum 500 wheels, wider in
back. They are wrapped in radial tires.
INTERIOR: I love that the interior is factory P6W white, it's very
refreshing against the gold paint. The seats have been rebuilt and
are firm, the new upholstery fits tight and the headrests were
redone. The carpets been replaced, and it has GTX embroidered floor
mats. A very nice original console is sitting between the bucket
seats, and it has working lights and an owner's manual inside the
compartment. The door panels have been replaced. In front of me is
a clean dash with a factory tachometer the factory radio. It does
have an upgraded polished tilt column with a custom steering wheel
that looks really good. Under the dash is the red lever you can
pull to feed fresh air into the carb. Overhead as a tight fitting
new headliner and visors, the dome light works. It has its full set
of original seat belts.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Wow, that's a beautiful engine compartment. It
has the N96 code on tag which means it is a factory air grabber
car, this one has been chrome plated including the big air cleaner
which looks amazing. Underneath it is a correct 1969 440-375 engine
that was completely rebuilt. It has a polished aluminum intake and
Edelbrock carb on top. The front of the engine is decked out with a
chrome alternator, chrome pulleys and water pump. Upgraded with a
modern aluminum power steering. It's also upgraded with an aluminum
radiator and overflow bottle. It also has power brakes. Everything
looks tidy and proper: The squirters are hooked up wiper motor was
restored, the horns are in place, the battery is properly secured
and has a disconnect switch. The fender tag is in place and the
hidden VIN number is on the core support. The entire engine bay is
clean metal painted glossy.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: You guessed it, it's even glossy in here! The
underside of the trunk lid, the jamb and the entire inside of the
trunk is painted the same glossy colors as the exterior. It has a
reproduction mat and weatherstrip. The latch is chrome along with
the Magnum 500 wheel. A new car cover is being thrown in as
well.
UNDERSIDE: Every single component was removed from under this car
it was flipped on a rotisserie. The floors and frame rails are all
pristine metal painted the same high gloss Spanish Gold as on top.
The front suspension has been completely rebuilt. The front K
member, swaybar and upper control arms are chrome plated! The rear
suspension was rebuilt. The brake system was upgraded with disc at
all four wheels, the lines were replaced. It has a custom exhaust
with Flowmaster mufflers and the correct tips. The new fuel system
was upgraded with a polished stainless tank that looks like chrome.
Looking up at the motor it is spotless with a chrome oil pan and
high torque starter. The VIN # matching 727 Torqueflite automatic
has been rebuilt and has a chrome pan. The rebuilt driveshaft goes
back to an 8 3/4 rear end with 3.23 Sure Grip gears.
