1992 Land Rover Defender 110- Rare 6x6 Model- Imported From The UK-
Right Hand Drive- 3.5L V8- 5 Speed Manual Transmission- Red over
Black- Rear Jump Seats- 131k MilesFor those who are longing for
something truly unique and prefer a larger vehicle we hope we have
your attention. This is a truly unique vehicle to take a close look
at and is sure to be the only one in your area. Not only is it big
and red but as you can see it has a few extra wheels under the
fenders. It's a Land Rover that turns heads everywhere it goes. The
vehicle you see here is a 1992 Land Rover Defender 110 finished in
Red over a black interior and currently showing approximately
131495 miles on the mechanical odometer. Clearly the first thing
that most folks notice are the extra wheels that have been added to
the vehicle. The 6x6 conversion was completed by Reynolds Boughton
LTD. which is a company based in the U.K. which specializes in
vehicle conversions airfield rescue firefighting vehicles and
military vehicle conversions. With the expertise they have we can
be confident that the 6x6 conversion was done correctly. This
clearly isn't a one off vehicle made on a TV show for a celebrity.
This unique vehicle is finished in a deep red color with other
notable exterior items being a black roof black fender flares side
steps on each side black diamond-plate panels on the front fenders
and hood and a Warn winch situated on the front bumper. The
tailgate folds down to reveal a pair of inward facing jump seats
and a fair amount of room for cargo. Another noticeable feature of
the exterior are the exhaust "stacks" which come up through the bed
just aft of the cab of the vehicle. This is a plus in situations
where you may be traversing a trail or land where there is high
water. An engine will not be very happy about producing bubbles in
the water as exhaust is pushed out which is probably the opposite
of how you felt as you blew bubbles with a straw in your chocolate
milk as a child. The interior is pretty much the same as a standard
Defender 110 other than black leather seats which have red
stitching and an added center console which features cupholders.
Trips to the Starbucks drive-thru may be a little more interesting
in a Defender 6x6. Though it does look as if it is of American
origin the 3.5 Liter V8 under the hood is an engine that was
offered in the Defender lineup. The V8 had about 189 lb/ft of
torque and 136 horsepower so to say that this vehicle is not fast
is true. But we know that having a lot of power and speed is not
necessary for a vehicle that is built for traversing areas that may
not have pavement. A 5-speed manual transmission handles gear
selection. A look beneath this big Rover reveals three count 'em
three differentials so not only were the extra pair of wheels added
in order to have a bigger contact patch they are also driven by the
engine. Toyo Open Country tires provide a big contact patch with
terra firma and are wrapped around custom alloy wheels. If you're
someone who likes to have unique vehicles in the garage this is a
vehicle that is truly unique for you to consider. You may want to
keep a slightly larger tire budget and make sure it fits in the
garage before buying. This isn't your average Land Rover Defender
110. Please call if interested or e-mail with specific questions.
Thank you for looking.
