GMC's all "New Design" trucks following WWII were built from 1947
through 1955 and would share the platform with Chevrolets "Advance
Design" in the light and medium truck series. They were sold with
minor changes over the years when they were replaced with the "Task
Force" series of trucks. From 1947 through 1955 Chevrolet trucks
were number one in sales in the US with the GMC cousins sold at GMC
locations. Among other items, 1953 trucks would be the last year to
use wooden blocks as bed supports....Oh, how far we have come. This
particular GMC built in Canada has had excellent ownership, care
and storage for the last quarter of a decade. The look of this
truck with the AG tires is pretty sweet. Having a GMC instead of a
Chevrolet for your consideration is pretty cool as well as the rest
of this truck is really cool. There are no secrets to hide on this
unit. It has had a restoration at some point but many years ago.
The paint is a good driver quality, there is not rust or rot, the
interior is nice, the wood bed is the newest part of this truck.
The engine pops to life really easy, it idles nice, quiet, does not
leak or smoke. This GMC goes down the road very nice and smooth
with no known issues whatsoever.
