Street rods will always hold a special place in the heart of every
American car collector. For decades, street rod enthusiasts have
been taking simple passenger cars from the 20's, 30's, 40's and
50's and turning them into the street machine or elegant cruiser of
their dreams. That is exactly what we have here in this stunning
1947 Chevrolet Fleetmaster convertible street rod. This Fleetmaster
convertible benefits from an extensive 2-year restoration that was
completed in April of 2000. During the restoration, the Fleetmaster
received a full repaint in its current Toreador Red Poly exterior
paint that still presents very well today. The Chevrolet's Toreador
Red Poly exterior shines extremely well and is in overall excellent
condition. The Fleetmaster's exterior is nicely complimented by its
factory chrome and stainless trim, hand-laid pinstriping, and a set
of Boyd Coddington Chrome 5-spoke wheels wrapped in Dayton Daytona
ZR tires. This Fleetmaster features a powered Tan canvas
convertible top that is in excellent condition and operates just as
it should. The custom Tan leather interior is in nice condition
throughout with some light staining and wear present. The interior
of this beautiful Chevrolet features a number of custom touches
including: Chrome Ididit tilt steering column, VDO gauge cluster
with in-dash tachometer, polished Lokar shifter, and brushed
interior door handles. Powering this Fleetmaster convertible is a
Chevrolet 350 cubic inch small block crate engine backed by a 700R4
4-speed automatic transmission. Both the engine and transmission
perform just as they should and effortlessly pull this Chevrolet
down the road. Transferring power to the rear wheels is a Chevrolet
10-bolt posi-traction rear end equipped with 3.73:1 final drive
gears. This 1947 Chevrolet handles the road very well and aiding
that is the welded-in Camaro front subframe. This Chevrolet is
nicely equipped with options such as: power steering, power front
disc brakes, power convertible top, power front windows, factory AM
radio (in-op), tilt steering column, heater/defrost, variable speed
wipers, and in-dash tachometer. If you are in the market for a
nicely restored, convertible street rod that is turn-key ready to
enjoy and would present very well at your local cruise-in or car
show, then you will want to take a very close look at this gorgeous
1947 Chevrolet Fleetmaster convertible.
