Highly coveted 'Bent-Window' 356 Pre-A Coupe with beehive rear tail
lights that is finished in Ivory (5404) with Black upholstery.
According to the factory Kardex, No. 52471 was delivered an Ivory
with a Red interior, a U.S. example delivered by Hoffman Motors
Corp in New York, New York. Optional equipment from the factory
includes a speedometer in miles and sealed beam headlights.
The paintwork is consistent throughout with patina, original
exterior trim, and glass. The cabin has been well preserved and is
equipped with a VDM steering wheel, VDO instrumentation, and a
dual-scale Strk oil temperature gauge. The wheels are 3.25" x 16"
with Turbo trim rings mounted to Michelin tires. The undercarriage
is solid and rust-free.
Mechanically, it is powered by a Super-90 1600cc flat-four engine
that produces 90 horsepower, paired with a 4-speed manual
transmission and a four-wheel drum braking system. European
Collectibles removed the engine and replaced the clutch with a
balanced flywheel and pressure plate. While the engine was out, it
was tuned and adjusted on the engine stand. The braking system has
been completely rebuilt with all new components, including new
wheel cylinders, brake shoes, brake lines, and a master cylinder.
Complete with a Porsche Kardex, Classic Technical Certificate, and
a spare wheel. Pre-A Coupes are becoming increasingly rare and hard
to find; this is a great driver that is ready to enjoy.
