Selling my beautiful Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC. The car lived most of his live in California and was parked in the same garage for 37 years. The owner unfortunately died some time back and the owners wife decided to sell the car with the help of his son back in 2011. This is when I saw the listing on classic cars and bought this beauty and brought it to Germany - living near the factory where the car war build back then.
Now, after enjoying the car for 1.5 decades I feel it should be getting back to the US where it had been driven and lived most of its live. Also, I need some more space in my garage for another beauty to arrive shortly.
Many repairs were done to the car after it arrived in Germany, all of which was done at a closed by Mercedes dealership and receipts from the repairs and maintenance are in my possession as well as repairs and maintenance receipts from the original owner. I also do hold the original US title, bill of safe from the first owner and bill of sale when I bought the car in 2011.
The car drives beautifully and the light blue metallic factory paint and pin-stripping all still shine very glossy.
The wonderfully slim pre-74 bumpers are perfectly straight with bright chrome and perfect black rubber. Royal blue leather interior has no tears and very little to no wear.
The white headliner is clean, firm and intact. All gauges, all lights and lamps (inside and out), clock, radio power antenna, electric rear defroster and vacuum lock all work. The four power windows and power sunroof are fully functional. A/C blows cold and all fan speeds work well. The Radio//CD is aftermarket and works fine. The 4.5 liter V8 starts easily and runs strong. Automatic transmission shifts smoothly up and down. Power steering and suspension are tight and the four power disc brakes stop firmly when needed.
Mercedes-Benz alloy sports wheels are mounted which have been refurbished in Germany and are almost like new. Any flaw would be pretty difficult to detect, as very few exist. The car is more than 25 years old and therefore is smog-exempt in the US.
