1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1. In 1969, Ford restyled the best selling
1st-Generation Mustang to look beefier and more athletic. Also new
for 1969 was the Mach 1 performance package, adding a variety of
powerplant options and new styling features. The Mach 1 was only
available in the Sports Roof body style, which was Ford's name for
the Fastback. This mean Ford comes equipped with a 351 c.i.
Cleveland V8 mated to a 4-barrel carburetor. Power is sent to the
rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission. The 1970
model included dual-beam headlights with the previous inner
headlights becoming sports lamps and recessed tail lamps on the
black honeycomb rear panel, revised bucket seats, as well as new
