Vehicle Description
1936 Ford Coupe
The Model 48 was put out by Ford in 1935 as a replacement for the
popular V8 powered Model 40a. These received a large redesign and
would continue to be refreshed annually until 1941. The combination
of price, practicality, and looks set Ford far ahead Chevrolet for
the top sales in their first year. Ford definitely ruled this
decade, even today, as the Fords of the 30's are a go to for street
rodding over other manufacturers. This nice Model 68 coupe is a 5
window version and is all factory steel painted in a Dark Red. Nice
Gold pinstriping wraps the entire car accenting the bodylines
nicely. It wears its original front/rear bumpers which are nicely
chromed. It has a lot of the stock style trim as well with the V8
on the nose. It rides on matching steel wheels with beauty rings,
Ford hubcaps and new Hankook tires.
The drivetrain of the car has all been redone and it is powered by
a Chevy 350 V8. The motor runs well and is fitted with Edelbrock
chrome valve covers, a chrome Edelbrock air cleaner, Edelbrock
Performer EPS intake, chrome alternator, and a 4 barrel Edelbrock
carburetor. The transmission is a Turbo 400 automatic that sends
power back to the 12 bolt rear end. A Mustang II front end has been
added which also brought along power front disc brakes. The car
runs smoothly and sounds good through the dual exhaust with chrome
tips out of the rear.
Inside the car it has nice Gray upholstery with a bench seat. The
carpeting is in good condition and on the floor is a Hurst t-handle
shifter. The dash is all nicely painted and in addition to the
original gauge it has added VDO gauges for fuel, amp, oil, and
temperature gauges. Under the dash of the car an aftermarket Dual
AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth/Aux stereo system has been installed and sounds
great. The trunk of the car is carpeted and extends forward to
behind the seat so it has a ton of storage space. The battery has
been relocated to the trunk and has a nice custom cover. On the
underside of the deck lid it has been upholstered and has a custom
"V8" recessed in place.
This is a neat classic that is being offered up at a very
reasonable price. Pick it up while it is still available!
