Vehicle Description
Chassis No. WP0AA299X1S620522
Sold new on 16 October 2000, this 911 Carrera 4 Coupe was finished
in Black over a Black leather interior and ordered with a
three-spoke leather steering wheel, color crest center caps, the
Advanced Technic Package, Power Seat Package, Design Package,
18-inch Sport Classic wheels. Perhaps most important is a common
option not selected-a sunroof. The CARFAX Vehicle History Report
shows that the car stayed with the original owner until the second
and current owner purchased it in June 2020.
Since their acquisition, the 996 Coupe has been restored and
upgraded to realizing their personal vision of the ultimate rear
wheel drive 996-generation 911. The car was stripped to a rolling
chassis with the first step in the restoration process being a
comprehensive dry ice cleaning. The bodywork was thoroughly
refinished using the current Paint to Sample and historical 356-era
shade of Auratium Green, while the interior was refreshed with
Campbell Dress plaid seat inserts. The exterior was additionally
reassembled with new zinc-plated hardware, seals, emblems, trim and
an original aero kit. The interior was also upgraded with silver
seat belts, silver painted accents, and a Continental Bluetooth
radio.
More than a cosmetic restoration, the car's mechanical systems
received the same level of attention. A new M96.01AT short block,
improved at the factory with the upgraded 997 IMS bearing was
sourced from Porsche while the cylinder heads were overhauled by
Bob Hurst at Anchor Atlantic of Pitman, New Jersey. The exhaust
system was upgraded with 997-generaton Carrera S headers with
internally modified factory mufflers.
Continuing in the pursuit of crafting the ultimate 911, power is
now sent exclusively to the rear wheels removing the heavy and
often complicated front wheel drive system. The suspension received
new Bilstein B6 shocks, H&R springs, H&R adjustable sway
bars, and Porsche Motorsports lower control arms. The finishing
touch was replacing the wheels with 19-inch Carrera S II wheels
from a 997.2 generation 911 finished in Weiss Gold. Thoroughly
upgraded and restored in a holistic manner with thought and care,
this 2001 911 Coupe has covered just 900 miles since completion. It
is furnished with extra Auratium Green paint, toolkit, tire
inflator, factory Porsche aero kit cover, two keys, and books.
