In 1968, less than 3,000 Chevelle SS 396 Convertibles were produced. In addition, this is one of 108 assembled in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. Yes, it is quite a rare Chevelle. 

The current owner purchased the 1968 Chevelle SS 396 convertible as a project. He owned a body shop for 10 years and has considerable experience restoring cars.

This was a body off restoration. 

SPECIFICATIONS: As reported by the owner:

• A restoration detail list is available for your review. What follows here are the highlights.
• The replacement engine is 454 cubic inch block. It runs strong.
• Transmission is a Turbo-Hydramatic 400 and shifts as normal.
• Positraction differential (3.90 ratio).
• All the sheet metal is new.
• The interior seats, door panels, and instrument panel are original (black vinyl).
• Included with the sale are all the parts to restore the seats.
• The gauge cluster has been restored.
• Paint: 1969 Mustang Candy Apple Red.
• The convertible top (power) is new.
• The chassis has been completely restored.
• A photo album documenting the restoration is included with the sale.
