Vehicle Description
2015 Mini Cooper Hatchback
"When you get a MINI, you get more than the keys to a car. You
unlock access to a community of like minded drivers who live boldly
and scream Big Love from the rooftops. Our history is enriched by a
long list of one off cars. Whether they were created for movies,
noble causes, or designed by celebrities to show the world the many
faces of MINI's personality, we love them all equally. Through
dozens of generations, iterations, and innovations, the defining
spirit of MINI has not only persisted, but thrived. Our retro roots
and out of the box origin, brought to life by the ingenuity of
Issigonis, are forever ingrained into the fabric of what drives
MINI." Thx Miniusa.com
For consignment, a 2015 Mini Cooper Hatchback with a title verified
60,845 actual miles. A one owner car always dealer services and up
to date on those important service intervals. Minis come in
different configurations, often with bold colors and designs, and a
plethora of Mini supported add ons that allow owners to personalize
their car.
Exterior
Production numbers are not available based on color, but this
Volcanic Orange cannot be one of the common colors. It's a standout
and complemented with black features throughout including the roof
and window pillars. Black wheel arches circle over 16-inch black
wheels for an especially appealing look, and the classic Mini hood
stripes are black with a thin white border. A slight overhang
creates a wing over the rear window, an extension of the black roof
that has a sizable sliding sunroof and shorty antenna. Along with
the black accents, there is still some chrome on this third
generation modern Mini including the headlight rings, the
horizontal grille bars, hood trim, tail light surrounds, and the
robust metal door handles. And these doors are large for a smaller
car, allowing easy access into the cabin. This car has been enjoyed
and love marks include rock chips on the hood, a few dings about,
and various scratches and chips. Also, the headlights covers could
use polishing.
Interior
If you have an aversion to circles, the interior might not be to
your liking, but it's a brand element of Mini that is incorporated
into every aspect of their interiors, an endearing quality Mini
owners have come to love. It starts on the doors with the door
opener and speaker providing the first two orbs on a plastic panel
that is modern and ergonomic. Modern Mini seats got better over the
years and 2015 represents another step up. They are sporty,
supportive, and comfortable, here in black leatherette with white
stitching and thigh support. The front buckets are referenced by
the rear 2+2's, not quite as deep, but well defined and clean and
providing access to three cupholders. The thick steering wheel
houses round thumb controls for radio and cruise and frames the
circle speedometer perched on the column with a tachometer peeking
out from the side like John C. Reilly in Stepbrothers. The large
circle tops the center stack includes the AM/FM radio above A/C
controls, (they're round knobs as you'd expect), and Mini's epic
aircraft like toggle switches and ignition switch. A pair of
cupholders front an oval handled shifter in a circular base over
low pile black carpet which also covers the cargo area which can be
expanded by putting the rear seats down. Overall, the interior is
in great condition and Mini interiors holds up well to usage,
evidenced by this 60,000 mile car.
Drivetrain
Clean in the bay is the 1.5 liter DOHC turbo inline 3 cylinder
rated at 134 horsepower and mated to a 6-speed automatic
transmission that keeps power up front with 3.42 gears. Power disc
brakes are front and rear.
Undercarriage
Minimal surface rust and no errant fluids about, the underside is
pleasantly clean with obvious hints of usage, but not worn or
tired, fully intact. The single exhaust runs down a center tunnel,
flanked by aerodynamic belly pans, and enters an original equipment
muffler just before exiting as a single tip. Suspension is
independent front and rear with MacPherson struts in front and a
multi link in back. Knuckles are clean and the plastic coverings
are near flawless with one corner showing a curb scrape.
Drive-Ability
Despite their outward stature, (which is getting larger with each
new generation), once you're on the inside, the car feels like any
other small car. Unlike classic Minis which practically put you in
your passenger's lap, modern Minis are roomy, ergonomically minded,
and comfortable. And their outward personality is matched by
performance, even with the turbo 3, this car has plenty of spunk
and as with all Mini's we've driven, handling is not only more than
adequate, but also fun, the compact steering wheel and short
wheelbase simply invite spirited driving. A well maintained Mini
will hold up well, as this one proves with no negative checkmarks
on our functionality test. While Classic Auto Mall represents that
these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we
cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of
your purchase.
