Jim Bryant was an automotive enthusiast from a young age. He first found a burnt 62 Corvette and learned how to utilize fiberglass while repairing that car. Jim further developed those skills by building boats as Thundercraft and Bryant Boat brands. Bryant Boats were the first 100% wood free boat. Jim was well known for building a fiberglass bodied 57 Chevrolet Belair with the Thundercraft name on the door. This car with a custom chrome moly chassis and 600 cubic inch plus NOS fueled powerplant which raced nationwide and was widely acknowledged as one of the major contributors of the Pro Modified Drag Racing class. Jim was a huge fan of car customizer George Barris and like Barris built unique cars that reflected his flair for over the top builds. Sadly this 62 Corvette concept was Jim's last finished build prior to his passing last year. This car was built from a custom mold in his shop and features a 1970 roofline, Suicide doors, C4 Taillights, a custom Art Morrison chassis with coil over shocks, Wilwood disc brakes, a 9" Ford housing with 3.42 Tru Trac limited slip, Rack and Pinion steering, GM crate supercharged LT4 and matching 8L90e transmission with GM Connect and Cruise powertrain system. The meticoulous bodywork and Blue and White metallic paint was done by DJ Ayers, Paul Atkins stitched the custom saddle interior and trunk with Blue accents. The car has been driven approximately 75 miles to verify all systems are working properly. The car has been shown once locally which benefits a new owner from lack of exposure and is an attention getter and conversation starter!
