Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1980 Mercedes-Benz 450SL
roadster. Finished in code 479 Walnut Brown with a matching brown
hard top and brown canvas convertible top, this R107 shows as a
presentable driver at an attractive price point. Body is straight
and solid with no known rust. Hard top is in good condition; soft
top is serviceable but has a few small tears. Lifelong southern car
looks good underneath with excellent floors, rockers and jack
points.
The leather seating surfaces are showing some wear but the interior
is otherwise in good original condition. Very nice crack-free dash
and steering wheel. All gauges are working, including the clock,
with the exception of the odometer (which quit within the last year
under present ownership). The last service book entry is from 1996
with 59k miles, and the tires have 2002 date codes with plenty of
tread remaining, so I actually believe that the indicated mileage
isn't far off. Automatic climate control works, but as is common on
these cars air does not blow out of the center dash vents. Working
AM/FM/CD cassette stereo.
Under the hood is a 4.5 liter V8 mated to an automatic
transmission. Service under present ownership within the past year
has included a new battery, oil service, and a new fuel pump and
filter. This car runs and drives well. Spare, jack, partial tools
and original owner's books are included with the sale.
An R107 offers a lot of style for the money, in an easy-to-own
package. For more information about this 1980 Mercedes-Benz 450SL
