Description:
This 1986 Ford Mustang SVO was ordered with the weight-saving
Competition Preparation option. Finished in Oxford White over
Charcoal and gray cloth, the car is powered by a turbocharged
2.3-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission,
and it has a Traction-Lok limited-slip differential, 16? alloy
wheels, disc brakes, articulated front sport seats, Flowmaster
mufflers, and an aftermarket camshaft. It shows 21k miles. This
Mustang SVO is offered with a window sticker, manufacturer's
literature, 1986 dealership sales items, two keys, accessories, a
clean Carfax report, and a clean title.
Interior:
Interior is in great shape, we go over the condition in the walk
around video. You will be hard pressed to find one in this shape.
from the seat condition to the steering wheel it is like new. Door
cards are in great shape as well. Even the bolster bulbs work.
Mounted on a tilt column, the three-spoke sport steering wheel
frames an 85-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,800-rpm
redline as well as gauges for boost pressure, coolant temperature,
oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 21k
miles
Exterior:
Ford's Special Vehicle Operations gave the Mustang SVO a biplane
rear spoiler and revised front-end styling as well as thinner
rocker panels and an offset hood scoop to feed the top-mount
intercooler. The 16? alloy wheels are mounted with 225/50
Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 tires. The SVO was equipped at
the factory with power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and
adjustable Koni dampers.
Drivetrain:
The turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four was factory rated at 200
horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear
wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a Traction-Lok
limited-slip differential. The engine has been retrofitted with a
roller camshaft, and the exhaust system has Flowmaster mufflers.
This is lighter than the 5.0 and give you a different type of
feeling durning acceleration when the turbo spools up. There is no
smoke. The transmission shifts as it should the Eco and Premium
switch works as it should. Brakes feel great. This package was 3200
more than the GT of the time, and limited production like the
cobra.
