Vehicle Description
This custom 1978 Datsun 280Z is powered by a fully built Toyota
2JZGTE 3.4-liter stroker engine producing 807hp and 675 ft/lbs of
torque on a Mustang dyno at 34 psi, conservatively tuned by Custom
Concept Motorsports. The engine features PRP R35 coil packs, CP
Carrillo pistons, Brian Crower rods, 276 cams and a port-polished
head, with ARP L19 studs, billet main caps and a balanced and
blueprinted block. Fuel is delivered via Injector Dynamics 2200cc
injectors running E85, controlled by an AEM Infinity ECU with a
CD7L digital dash, flex fuel sensor and vehicle dynamics module.
Boost is provided by a Garrett GTX42R turbo with TiAL V-band
housing, dual blow-off valves and an external wastegate, all fed
through custom intercooler plumbing. Power is sent through an HKS
triple-disc clutch and a Toyota Supra V160 6-speed manual
transmission to an R230 rear end with Cusco RS 1.5-way LSD, DSS
axles and a custom driveshaft. The chassis features Wilwood
6-piston front and 4-piston rear brakes, hydraulic handbrake and
manual brake master cylinder. Suspension includes a full suite of
Techno Toy Tuning upgrades: adjustable sport struts, camber plates,
control arms, 5-lug conversion and a reinforced mustache bar.
Interior components include OMP FIA race seats, Schroth 6-point
harnesses, a Momo suede wheel, full custom aluminum panels by Big
Oak Garage and an extensive front-to-rear cage by Top Garage
Fabrication. Additional features include EPAS electric power
steering, LED headlights with yellow Lamin-X, fire extinguisher and
a 12-gallon ATL fuel cell with dual Walbro 450LPH pumps. The
exterior is wrapped in Satin 3M Dark Gunmetal and rides on two sets
of wheels: ADV1 ADV5 3-piece (17x11/17x10) with Toyo tires and
Rocket Attack RPM7 (18x11/18x10) with Yokohama tires. **TITLED AS
