Porsche is no stranger to "more power and rear wheel drive", a
performance combination revered amongst car enthusiasts and racers
alike. The Porsche 911 GT2 RS name laid dormant in Stuttgart for 7
years, last used in 2011 with the 997. Then in 2017, the 2018 991
GT2 RS was announced and the GT2 RS moniker was reborn. With a
staggering 690 horsepower produced from its 3.8-liter
twin-turbo-charged engine, this dual-clutch, rear-wheel drive
"widowmaker" was an instant sensation. This immense power allows
the GT2 RS to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds, with a
top speed of 211 mph. Adding on top of its already resounding
positive press, it set a production car lap record at the
N�rburgring with a 6:47 minute lap time, cementing this car as the
"baddest" street-legal cars in the world, bar none.
This 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS was ordered new and was delivered to
Porsche Grapevine of Grapevine, Texas in August of 2018. Optioned
with $28,420 in Porsche factory options, the biggest and most
significant option was the Paint-to-Sample option for $12,830, with
the owner opting to swathe the GT2 RS in Pastel Orange, an
extremely rare color choice for a GT2 RS. Other options include
Leather/Alcantara Interior in Black, Extended Deviated Stitching
Interior Package, Front Axle Lift, LED Headlights in Black with
PDLS, Instrument Dials in white, Window Triangle Trim in Carbon
Fiber, Seat Belt Outlet in Alcantara, Sport Chrono Stopwatch Dial
in white, Light Design Package, Door Sill Guards in Carbon Fiber
(Illuminated), Extended Range Fuel Tank (23.7gal), Fire
extinguisher, and Sun Visors in Alcantara. Total MSRP in 2018 was
$322,670. A professional, high quality paint protection film was
later applied to the entire vehicle to preserve the Pastel Orange
paint ($12,000 value).
The GT2 RS found itself used sparingly by its caretaker, and was
regularly serviced at Porsche North Houston. The Porsche followed a
similarly regimented maintenance schedule at SunCoast Motorsports
Porsche when its new owner acquired it in May of 2020, which by
that time the car had only accumulated 254 miles. This caretaker
would keep the car in their possession until the end of 2024, which
by this time the odometer had just ticked over 1,000 miles after
owning it for 4.5 years.
Upon arriving at Canepa, the Pastel Orange GT2 RS was thoroughly
inspected both cosmetically and mechanically through the "Canepa
Difference" process, ensuring that systems and surfaces are
excellent. With only 1,293 miles on the odometer upon arrival with
a full paint protection film applied, the GT2 RS presents like a
new 911 off the Porsche showroom floor. Despite this, Canepa
engaged multiple departments to bring this GT2 RS to the next
level. Canepa's custom carbon fiber winglets, an $8,500 option,
were installed for a stealth presence, while the OEM rear spoiler
was removed (the original Pastel Orange OEM rear spoiler is
included in the sale of this GT2 RS). Next, Canepa's in-house paint
artisans matched the beautiful shade of Platinum that Porsche
employs on its own wheels, enhancing the look of the center-locking
aluminum alloy wheels. Canepa custom plaid seat inserts were
designed and installed to give the interior a unique presence. Now
this 911 GT2 RS is a "true one-of-one" example, with its stunning
Pastel Orange PTS color paired with accenting carbon fiber
components and Platinum wheels to complete the upgrade.
