The 356SC is the top-of-the-line Cabriolet with the most power, the
best transmission, and four-wheel disc brakes built from late 1963
to 1965. This 356SC Cabriolet is presented in its original color
combination of Champagne Yellow (6405) over a Black interior.
According to the Certificate of Authenticity, this 356SC retains
its matching engine, transmission, decks, and doors. Current
options include chrome wheels, 128 Hella fog lights, VDM Carrera
wooden steering wheel with deluxe horn ring, Blaupunkt AM/FM radio,
headrests, and CoCo mats.
Occasionally, an exceptional 356 comes along, and European
Collectibles has restored many Porsches over the years. Yet, this
particular 356SC should have ideally remained in its original
condition because it was a preservation class candidate. The owner
at the time insisted on doing a comprehensive ground-up
restoration. After the 356 was completely disassembled and then
stripped to steel, we were astounded to discover that it had
sustained no damage, had never undergone any rust repairs, and had
never been disassembled. This 356 spent its existence in California
and was in storage for three decades preceding its restoration.
European Collectibles has meticulously disassembled this 356,
thoroughly stripped the body to bare steel, and executed a complete
concours restoration in its original color combination of Champagne
Yellow/Black. All the components were re-chromed, new rubber seals
were installed, a new German interior was installed, and the
driveline was completely rebuilt, including the engine,
transmission, brakes, and suspension.
The paintwork is in in impeccable condition. The interior exhibits
a VDM Carrera wooden steering wheel with a deluxe horn ring, VDO
instrumentation, a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, headrests, and CoCo mats.
The undercarriage is in outstanding condition, fully detailed,
solid, and rust-free.
Mechanically powered by the numbers matching 1600cc pushrod engine
(type 616/16) producing 95 horsepower with a manual 4-speed
transmission (type 741) and four-wheel disc brakes. Complete with a
tool kit, owner's manual, boot cover, and Porsche Certificate of
Authenticity confirming the matching driveline. It is truly one of
the best 356 SC Cabriolets that you will find with no issues.
Everything has been done, beautifully restored, finished in the
original color combination, and it is truly a dream to drive!
