This one underwent a full restoration with flame-kissed matte black paint and features the most robust engines Toyota ever made. Did we mention that this is a full metal car, other than the rear fenders?
The interior is super clean and simple. You have your proper rat rod seats that feature seatbelts. It has an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo with a fold-out touchscreen that has a USB input and Bluetooth capabilities. Peering through the four-spoke FORD steering wheel you have simple gauges for temp, 110 MPH, and fuel level. Odometer shows 190,000 miles which are original to the chassis and previous engine, but consignor states that less than 5,000 miles have been added since the restoration.
The matt black exterior always sets the tone for a mean machine with a textured style. The restorations started with a 1938 body that had a barrel-nose style front end. This one highlights that with a bold red against the matte black. The red pinstriping announces that this is a 38 Special on the tailgate and has full custom flames on the front. The bed is also custom with diamond plate sides, lumber floor, and a custom Rat Fink toolbox.
Once you open the hood you are greeted by a 20R motor, the Toyota 2.2-liter engine that was produced from 1975 through 1980. The Ford is riding on a Toyota chassis as well. It's linked to a three-speed automatic transmission, power brakes (front discs), and electric exhaust cutouts. This one also features a fully custom under-glow lighting kit that is paired via Bluetooth.
