Originally a Fremont, CA-built SS model, this 1967 Chevrolet
Chevelle SS wears an eye-catching coat of Marina Blue. The classic
body style looks fantastic with its clean lines and hardtop design
that allows for a full open-air look when all windows are lowered.
The 17" wheels fitted with 245/45ZR17 Nitto tires up front and
275/40ZR17 Nitto tires at the rear give this machine a planted,
ready-to-roll appearance. A black vinyl top provides excellent
two-tone color contrast, while the gleaming chrome trim and bumpers
add just the right amount of flash against that deep blue
paint.
Black vinyl covers the interior, featuring bucket seats with
headrests and a full-length center console. One of the more unusual
options on this Chevelle is the power windows system, making it
quick and easy to lower the glass for that true open-air feel. The
driver grips a wood steering wheel mounted on a tilt column for
better driving position. All factory gauges remain intact,
including the speed warning indicator for those high-speed runs and
a factory correct blinker tach helps monitor engine RPMs. The
RetroSound stereo adds modern audio without changing the classic
look and air conditioning keeps the cabin cool during summer
drives.
Under the hood a GM ZZ427 crate V8 motor gives this Chevelle SS
some real attitude, dyno-tested at 557 horsepower and 493 lb-ft of
torque. The Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual transmission allows full
use of the rev range, while the 12-bolt rear end with 3.31 gear
ratio and posi-traction helps put that power down effectively.
Power disc brakes up front bring everything to a halt when needed.
The motor breathes through GM performance parts aluminum heads and
a performance cam. An aluminum radiator with electric fans keeps
operating temperatures in check, while dual exhaust with FlowMaster
mufflers announces the Chevelle's arrival.
