Vehicle Description
Reimel Motor Cars proudly presents this 1973 Porsche 911 S 2.4,
finished in stunning Irish Green paint. The interior features Black
leather and Houndstooth and sports seats.
The 1973 Porsche 911 S, a true icon from the final year of the
classic thin-bumper 911 era. As the top model of its time (second
only to the legendary Carrera RS), the '73 911 S is one of the most
desirable and collectible variants, sought after by enthusiasts and
collectors alike.
With its extended wheelbase-introduced in 1969-and signature Fuchs
light-alloy wheels, the 911 S offered improved handling along with
thrilling performance. Weighing just 2,300 lbs, it's powered by a
2.4-liter mechanically fuel-injected engine delivering 190
horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 154 lb-ft of torque at 5,200 rpm. The
engine's distinctive red fiberglass shroud identifies it as the
top-of-the-line S model.
For 1973, the 911 S received the stronger Type 915 transmission,
replacing the earlier dog-leg setup with a more user-friendly
H-pattern shift. Contemporary road tests showed the car was capable
of 0-60 mph in just 7.8 seconds, a quarter-mile in 16.3 seconds,
and a top speed of 142 mph-remarkable performance for such a
tractable and usable street car. A unique front valance was added
to enhance high-speed stability and manage airflow beneath the
chassis.
This particular example has undergone a comprehensive restoration
and refinishing in its correct and original shade of Irish Green.
Inside, the black leather interior has been fully redone, featuring
stylish period-correct houndstooth seat inserts. A Porsche Classic
head unit has been installed, offering modern conveniences such as
Bluetooth streaming and Apple CarPlay, while the original-style
Blaupunkt cassette radio is included for those who appreciate its
classic aesthetic. Notably, this car retains its rare
factory-installed air conditioning.
The vehicle comes complete with original tools, jack, and most
importantly, a matching-numbers drivetrain verified by its Porsche
Certificate of Authenticity. A recent major service included the
installation of a correct mechanical fuel injection system and a
full valve adjustment, ensuring this 911 S is ready to perform at
its best.
With its iconic styling, renowned driving dynamics, and increasing
collectibility, this early air-cooled, long-hood 911 S offers a
rare opportunity to own a piece of Porsche history-ideal for PCA
rallies, concours events, or simply enjoying on the open road.
