This 1978 Jeep CJ-7 is a really nice, really clean, all steel Jeep
that spent its life in California. The last owner owned this jeep
for 13 + years. This is a factory 304 V8 Jeep with a lot of nice
upgrades. There are a lot of receipts that will come with this CJ.
The body is really clean and straight. It was originally Brown
Metallic from the factory, but it was repainted several years ago
in the color of Gray Metallic. It is a very nice repaint and the
paint is still in excellent condition. It has Pro Comp aftermarket
front and rear bumpers along with rocker guards. The underside nice
and clean and we found no rust issues with this Jeep. The Bestop
Soft top is in nice condition but it is missing the side and rear
windows. We have a new replacement Bestop Top in the Box (uses
original frame).
The interior is your basic Jeep interior and it is nice. The inside
of the tub floor was bedliner material to provide protection and
longevity. It has a nice set of Corbeau reclining bucket seats in
the front and a rear bench seat. All seats have 4 point seat belts.
It also has a nice custom built family roll cage for safety. The
headlights, taillights, brakelights, and turn signals are all
working. The gauges all work. The heat, windshield wipers, and horn
are also working.
Mechanically this Jeep is excellent. It starts easily and runs and
drives great. The engine is the 5.0L 304 V8 that runs strong with
no issues or red flags that we found. The engine has had a new
timing chain and oil pump installed recently. The transmission was
upgraded to a Novak T18 4 Speed manual (it was new when installed
and we have the receipt). It shifts nice and has a strong clutch.
It has the Dana 300 transfer case with twin-stick shifter. The 4WD
works like it should. The rear axle is the AMC 20 with 3.54 gears.
The front axle is the Dana 30 with 3.54 gears. It has a 4 Inch all
spring lift with front shackle reversal, Rancho shocks, stainless
brake hoses. It also has the upgraded HD steering system.
