Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1977 Mercedes Benz W123
280E Sedan. This early-production 280E was sold new in Texas and
then remained with its second owner in North Carolina for nearly
three decades until his recent passing. Finished in Ikon Gold over
brown MB-Tex, it saw one quality repaint in the correct color some
years ago. Nice glass, bumpers, lenses and trim. Original steel
wheels with color-matched hubcaps are wearing brand new tires.
The interior is in remarkably well-preserved original condition.
Nice dash and wood; the seating surfaces show virtually no wear.
Cold A/C with properly working automatic climate control and dash
vent pods. Power windows, sunroof and locks are all working as is
the cruise control. The period Blaupunkt cassette stereo powers on
and makes noise but has trouble tuning a station.
The fuel injected M110 gas inline six makes good power and runs
great, and the four-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly -
we have been daily driving this car for a month and it has been
comfortable and trouble free. Original owner's books, tool roll and
first aid kit (still in the wrapper) are included. This W123 offers
classic Mercedes style and build quality in a fantastic color
combination that garners compliments wherever it is parked - all at
an approachable price point.
