This is a beautiful 24,000-mile three owner 1951 Studebaker
Champion Regal Convertible that needs nothing to be enjoyed.
Whether for use as a classic driver or for local and regional
shows, this is a wonderful example in every respect. This 1951
Studebaker Champion convertible is said to have spent three decades
in storage before returning to the road in 1983. It is finished in
red over red vinyl upholstery and powered by a 170ci inline-six
mated to a three-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
Additional features include a hydraulically operated convertible
soft top, 15 wheels, bright hubcaps, bench seats, and a single
Carter carburetor. The car was acquired by the seller in 2017, and
subsequent work included relining the brake shoes, cleaning the
fuel tank, and rebuilding the front seat bottom cushion as well as
replacing the wiring harness, brake master cylinder, radiator, fuel
bowl, soft fuel lines, shocks, wheel cylinders, and tires. This
10G-S2 Champion convertible is now offered on dealer consignment
with service records and an Arizona title. Studebaker manufactured
4,742 six-cylinder Champion convertibles for 1951. This one is said
to have been repainted in red under previous ownership and features
a hydraulically operated black convertible soft top paired with a
black top boot as well as a bullet-nose front end, a hood ornament,
dual side mirrors, rear-fender stone guards, and chrome bumpers
with corner guards. According to the documentation complete with
this Champion, this was used by its original owner for nine months
before being stored until 1983, when it was sold to his best
friend. Mostly original with one high quality repaint, new black
canvas convertible power top and recently rewired, this is a blend
of low mileage original and restored as needed to be a gorgeous
example. Red vinyl upholstery covers the front and rear bench
seats, which are complemented by a color-coordinated dash, door
panels, and carpets. Additional features include a dash-mounted
rearview mirror, a lockable glove compartment, and door-panel
storage pockets. The front seat bottom cushion was rebuilt and
fitted with replacement foam in 2017. The AM radio does not
function properly. This features the venerable 170 CID inline
six-cylinder engine connected to a three-speed overdrive manual
transmission. Mechanically, this is in very nice condition in every
respect. The 170ci inline-six was factory rated at 85 horsepower. A
replacement radiator was installed in April 2017, and the Carter
carburetor was rebuilt in February 2019. Work in 2020 included
cleaning the fuel tank as well as replacing the fuel bowl, fuel
bowl gasket, and soft fuel lines. An oil change was most recently
performed in March 2023, at which time the coolant was flushed and
the thermostat was replaced. The wiring harness was subsequently
replaced in August 2023. The 15 wheels have bright hubcaps and are
wrapped with 205/75 Coker whitewall tires that were mounted in
2020.The shocks were replaced in 2017, and work in 2019 included
relining the brake shoes and replacing the wheel cylinders. A
replacement brake master cylinder was installed in 2023. For more
