Vehicle Description
2007 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 2LZ Coupe
"One horsepower is equal to 550 foot pounds per second, (745.7
watts). A foot pound is the amount of energy required to move a
pound, (0.45 kilograms), of any substance one foot, (30.5
centimeters). We call horsepower horsepower because when large
scale agricultural and industrial machines were first being
introduced, they needed a unit of measurement that people, (people
who were used to dealing with horses), could understand. One horse
can produce about one horsepower of power during sustained
activity." Thxhowstuffworks.com
For consignment, a 2007 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 2LZ coupe with a
title verified 18,949 actual miles and a dyno proven 1,031
horsepower. This twin turbo car may hold the record for the longest
list of modifications we've ever seen on a car and we think it's
important to list as many as possible here, with some notation
regarding overall condition. The car was featured on the cover and
in the September 2010 issue of Vette Magazine.
Exterior
This car was treated to a full on color change to Dodge Viper
Snakeskin Green and ceramic coated in 2024. There's an APR wing on
the back and the consignor also has a second painted hatch, if the
wing is "too much". It has ZR1 carbon fiber front lip spoiler and
side skirts, black badges, and CCW SP16 wheels, 18-inch in front
and 19-inch in back. If not for the unique color and massive wing,
this would just look like your run of the mill Z06 and be a virtual
sleeper. Imperfections are limited to chin scuffs on the front
spoiler.
Interior
In addition to the normal, well appointed 2LZ interior of this Z06,
the car is equipped with a 2008 carbon fiber center console insert,
a custom steering wheel, an MGW short shifter, Aeroforce
Interceptor gauge with fuel pressure, AMS boost controller with
scramble button on shifter, a 1989 Shelby boost gauge, and a Brey
Klause harness bar & harness. The entertainment system has
Bluetooth and CarPlay, upgraded speakers and sub, a 1000 watt amp,
reverse camera, and Innovative wideband. Low pile black carpet is
front and rear and Twin Turbo embroidered carpeted mats protect the
foot wells and the headliner is perfect.
Drivetrain
Enhanced with some Snakeskin Green paint and few other added
features, the engine bay is otherwise understated given the number
of horses in there. The 427 features: a RHS block with 9.3-1
compression built by MCP Competition Engines, a Callies crank,
Manley forged H-beam rods, Mahle pistons, ARP 2000 head studs and
and ARP crank bolt. Helping add the ponies is an APS Z06 Twin Turbo
system, Garrett GT35R ball bearing turbos, modified BOV to
atmosphere, Innovators West crank pulley, Katech tensioner pulley,
APS intercoolers, TurboWerks Exa scavenge oil pump, 2.5 BAR MAP
sensor, Custom HP Tuners 2.5 BAR speed density operating system, a
custom grind Comp Cams turbo cam, Evans water pump refreshed in
2024, an APS oil cooler, a DeWitts radiator, a big fan, Katech
valve covers and plug wires. Heads are an ETP Mast head upgrade
with titanium/Inconel exhaust valves, .660 dual valve springs,
upgraded lifters, bronze valve guides, and chromoly pushrods. Fuel
delivery includes Injector Dynamics ID 2000 flow matched 200lb/hr
injectors, APS fuel rails, a DSX flex fuel sensor, Aeromotive in
tank pump with speed controller, new internal tubes and crossover
pipe, new PTFE lines and hoses, and a port matched intake. The
6-speed manual is a 2009 TR6060 unit with a hardened input shaft,
Spec dual disc clutch, Tick slave cylinder and throwout bearing,
new input shaft and torque tube bearings, and an ECS transmission
brace. A 3.42 Positraction axle puts all those ponies to the
pavement.
Undercarriage
The typical complex race inspired SLA suspension system front and
rear is augmented with PFADT triple adjustable coil overs and a
PDFAT rear sway bar. Factory headers lead to an APS exhaust system
with stainless steel mufflers. The underside is clean and
unassuming. Power disc brakes on all four wheels help slow down the
Nittos.
Drive-Ability
This green beast is firing on all cylinders and this myriad of
performance parts work together to create a very fast and very
capable version of an already legendary car. All systems are go and
the long checklist of functional items all get green lights. While
Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at
the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions
will be working at the time of your purchase. At the risk of
shredding expensive tires, we feathered the gas but the power at
hand was quite obvious.
This is an impressive build and an impressively clean car. The
engine was installed at about 11,000 miles so while it's broken in,
it's still young and ready to provide a new owner with the thrill
ride of your life. This is a ton of car for the money, a heck of a
show car, and will come to you with the original window sticker,
the build sheet, a binder full of history, and the dyno sheet you
can share with your friends!
