PHOTORARE, TOP-OF-THE-LINE 1950S AUTOMOTIVE ICONFULLY SORTED,
ROAD-TESTED & DETAILED At the pinnacle of America's luxury car
market, GM's Cadillac Division went from strength to strength
during the postwar years, including new bodies for 1948 and a
powerful new V-8 engine by 1949. Based on the El Dorado Golden
Anniversary concept car that wowed visitors to GM's 1952 Motorama
shows, the Series 62 Eldorado Convertible reached limited
production in 1953. By 1956, the Seville 2-door hardtop joined the
Eldorado series, while the Eldorado convertible was named
"Biarritz." Handsomely restyled for 1957, the Eldorado featured a
tuned 365 cubic-inch V-8 with twin four-barrel carburetors
delivering 325 factory-rated horsepower and a standard GM
Hydra-Matic four-speed automatic transmission. Just 2,100 examples
of the Eldorado Seville hardtop were manufactured for 1957, priced
from a lofty $7,286.This concours-quality 1957 Cadillac Eldorado
Seville is the beautifully presented product of a frame-off,
nut-and-bolt total restoration with virtually no possible expense
spared in the process. According to the documents and receipts on
file, an estimated $370,000 was invested in the Seville's
restoration. Power is delivered by Cadillac?s proprietary 365 CI
V-8 engine, uprated to a factory-rated 325 HP with
Eldorado-specific dual-carburetors under a factory "Batwing" air
cleaner, paired to a Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Finished
in distinctive Copper Metallic paint, accented by a Brown padded
vinyl roof and Gold-finished front and rear emblems, the Seville
features a correct Copper and Gold 2-tone leather and cloth
interior. Features and options are numerous, including the
Eldorado-standard power front seat and power windows. Other
highlights include air conditioning, power brakes and steering, a
stainless steel dual exhaust system, and Sabre-spoke wheels
mounting wide Whitewall radial tires. Accompanying items include a
car cover and various spare parts, plus an owner's manual, Cadillac
new car specifications manual, and a framed photo and description
of the vehicle. Rare, HANDSOMELY PRESENTED, and powerful, this 1957
Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible benefits from full sorting,
road-testing, and detailing, making it ideal for the show/concours
lawn and enjoyment as desired. Be sure to contact us today to see
