Vehicle Description
Welcome to Street Dreams as we celebrate our 26th year in the
classic and muscle car business. The Chevrolet division of General
Motors introduced the Monte Carlo in 1970 to compete in the
personal luxury segment of the market pioneered a year earlier by
their sister division Pontiac with the Grand Prix. Riding on a 116
wheelbase derived from the 4-door Chevelle gave the Monte Carlo,
strictly a 2-door coupe, the attractive proportions of a very long
hood with a much shorter rear deck. Combining the mechanical muscle
of the sporty Chevelle with similar proportions to Cadillac's
Eldorado gave the Monte Carlo a popular mixture of muscle and
luxury at a competitive price. This beautiful Black Cherry (78)
1970 Monte Carlo SS454 resides at the top of the Monte Carlo food
chain as one of only 3,823 produced. Beneath that long hood is the
rare 454 V8 (BCN 3963512, EC T0904CRN, CD H29) that, while unable
to see the VIN derivative, we believe to be original due to all the
other codes aligning perfectly. Additional features include power
steering, power front disc brakes, power windows, power door locks,
air conditioning, correct (70-CR-3860) TH400 automatic
transmission, tilt steering column, correct Black Cherry paint with
Saddle trim (78, 769), console with bucket seats, gauge package,
front and rear stabilizer bars, 12-bolt rear end with 2.56 highway
gears (CRJ), AM/FM stereo, and GR70-15 red stripe tires mounted on
classic rally wheels. This is a superb example of a coveted classic
with few flaws. One more exceptional dream machine from the Texas
Hill Country's premier source for classic muscle and the team that
can make your dream a reality. Street Dreams (830-997-1950) is a
