Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this
1978 Chevrolet Corvette 25th Anniversary Edition. The 1978 model
was the most redesigned Corvette in ten years and was also honored
to be the official Pace car for the Indianapolis 500. The pace cars
had their own vehicle identification number to eliminate cloning.
The body lines of the C3 Corvette are accented in this case by the
classic two-tone Silver on Gray color option. This Vette is easy on
the eyes and the car has been restored to a high quality (at great
expense, might we add!). Everything from bumpers to seals, lights
and decals were replaced on the exterior to bring the factory look
back. The L82 engine was rated at 185hp when sold new and is mated
to a close ratio 4 speed transmission feeding a posi-traction
differential. Aluminum wheels with B.F. Goodrich radial raised
white letter tires hide disc brakes up front and a total suspension
overhaul has this 1978 Corvette handling like a champ. Included in
the interior options were air conditioning, power windows/locks,
tilt/telescopic steering wheel and removeable T-Tops. The car
currently has an aftermarket radio that has multi-function
capabilities. The upholstery of this Corvette is truly noteworthy
from the newly redone bucket seats covered in Oyster leather to the
wood grain console and gauge cluster cover with stock
instrumentation. Sure, there are a few 25th Anniversary Corvettes
out there, but we challenge you to find one that has been upgraded
and cared for like this one. Even after a quarter century of
production, the Corvette name still held its own in the American
market and of course it has continued to do so.
